At Brindley Heath Academy we are keen to develop the leadership potential of our children. We have a range of leadership opportunities already available in school and we will continue to develop this over the coming years. Mrs Norris is responsible for the development and leadership of our pupil leaders.
We recognise the importance of children taking ownership of their own learning and being part of the decision making within school. The intent of our pupil leadership team is to have roles and responsibilities within school that impact positively on life at Brindley for all.
Pupil Leadership Opportunities:
Our school council gives all our children a voice. Our children’s thoughts and reflections about our curriculum, learning opportunities and surroundings are all highly valued and taken seriously. We have elected members in each class from across school. A head and deputy represent their class and regularly take part in meetings to discuss pupil voice and make decisions about leading projects in school.
At Brindley Heath we want all of our children to become responsible and respectful online citizens. Our Digital Leaders are our E-Safety ambassadors and they are responsible for helping other children use technology within classrooms, work collaboratively on projects throughout the school, delivering assemblies, whilst keeping themselves and others safe online.
Our librarians take on the role of being responsible for looking after our whole school library. They are available each day to ensure the library is well looked after and books are available on the shelves looking well-presented and inviting helping to prompt a love of reading.
At Brindley Heath we want children to have a good understanding of staying fit and healthy. Our sports leaders are responsible for looking after playground equipment, leading sports activities and promoting healthy eating.
